The Very Large Array

This radio astronomy observatory is situated on the Plains of San Agustin, in the remote rolling hills that stand to the west of Socorro. This observatory is used for observing various astronomical phenomena, such as black holes. You can get self-guided walking tours through this array. There is no need for reservations, but you should check the times beforehand to be on the safe side. The walking tours start from the array’s Visitor Center.
